Most people arrive at a portrait session a little nervous. That is completely normal — and honestly, it is where every good session begins. Nobody looks their most natural in the first five minutes in front of a camera. Our whole approach is built around getting past those five minutes as quickly and gently as possible.
We talk first, shoot second
Before a single frame, we spend a few minutes just talking — about where you’re from, what you do, why you booked the session. It sounds small, but it changes everything. By the time we lift the camera, you’re mid-sentence, mid-laugh, mid-thought, and the stiffness has already melted away.
The camera is not the point. The person is the point. The camera just happens to be there.
Chasing the right light
We schedule outdoor sessions for the last hour before sunset whenever we can — the light photographers call golden hour. It is soft, warm and forgiving, and it wraps around a face instead of cutting across it. We would rather shoot forty honest frames in beautiful light than four hundred under a harsh midday sun.

Direction, not posing
You will not hear us bark out stiff poses. Instead we give small, easy directions — take a slow step, look back over your shoulder, tell your partner a secret — that create movement and real expression. The result is a set of images that look like you, on a good day, in good light.
