Guide 01

Most couples plan over nine to twelve months. You do not need to do everything at once — here’s a rough order that keeps things calm.

• 9–12 months out — set your budget, lock the date, book your venue and your key vendors (photographer, caterer, planner).
• 6–9 months out — finalise your guest list, order attire, and book any films or additional coverage.
• 3–6 months out — confirm your timeline, do a venue walk-through, and share your must-have shot list with your photographer.
• 1 month out — confirm final numbers, build the run-of-show, and hand every vendor the same schedule.
• The week of — delegate, rest, and let the people you hired do their jobs.

Guide 02

Photography is the one part of the day you take home. A few things worth knowing as you set your budget:

• Coverage hours matter most — more hours means the full story, from getting ready to the last dance. Decide which moments you can’t miss.
• Photo, or photo + film — a film captures sound and movement a photograph can’t. If it matters to you, budget for it early rather than adding it late.
• Albums and prints — a screen is where photos live; a printed album is where they last. Many couples set aside a little for keepsakes.
• Ask what’s included — number of edited images, delivery time and gallery access all vary. Our wedding rate card lists this in full.

Guide 03

Beyond the portfolio, you’re choosing someone who’ll be beside you all day. Look for:

• A consistent style — look at full galleries, not just highlight reels, so you know what a whole day looks like in their hands.
• Someone you click with — comfort in front of the camera starts with trusting the person behind it.
• Clear communication — a photographer who answers questions and shares a plan will make your day calmer.
• Local knowledge — a team that knows Accra’s venues and light can anticipate the day instead of reacting to it.

Guide 04

You don’t need a long list — just the moments you’d hate to miss. A few couples always thank us for:

• Getting-ready details — rings, shoes, invitations, the dress on its hanger.
• The first look or first embrace — quiet, unposed, and often the most emotional frame of the day.
• Family groupings — a short, prioritised list keeps this quick and painless.
• Golden-hour couple portraits — fifteen minutes near sunset for the images you’ll frame.
• The candid in-between — laughter, tears, the dance floor. Give us room and we’ll find them.
